Shaivi Soni

Teaching and Research Associate, Aawaaz Education Services, Shaivi is working at the intersection of education, AI, and research. She leads technology interventions at Aawaaz and plays a central role in the development and deployment of TeachAIde, an AI-powered teacher support system designed for resource-constrained classrooms.

Her work focuses on understanding and reducing teacher cognitive load while strengthening teacher agency within complex classroom environments. She is closely involved in the research, design, and on-ground implementation of TeachAIde, contributing to iterative development processes, teacher-facing deployments, and evidence generation. Her approach integrates research with practice, ensuring that technological solutions are both contextually grounded and pedagogically meaningful.

Shaivi’s work is anchored in the belief that technology should augment, rather than bypass, teachers. She is particularly interested in how AI systems can be designed to respond to real classroom constraints while enabling more equitable and sustainable teaching practices.

Her broader research interests include teacher agency, classroom dynamics, and the role of AI in shaping educational systems, with a focus on building scalable, teacher-centred solutions that remain rooted in lived classroom realities.
