Dr. Palaash Bhargava

Dr. Bhargava brings exceptional methodological expertise as a Ph.D. economist from Columbia University with specialized training in rigorous impact evaluation through his postdoctoral work at the University of Chicago. His experience designing and leading Randomized Control Trials makes him ideally suited to develop the quasi- experimental baseline evaluation framework required for ChildFund’s climate resilience project. He led and successfully completed a large-scale RCT investigating the impact of peer effects and peer-based seating on students’ academic and socio-economic outcomes across 23 schools in 4 states in India. Further, in the recent past, he has also worked on large-scale projects that use causal analysis to understand the development of climate attitudes globally and the role of ancestral history in determining the same. Dr. Bhargava’s background in both educational, environmental, and economic evaluation provides the multidisciplinary perspective necessary to assess climate resilience across household, school, and institutional domains as specified in the RFP. His expertise in quantitative data collection and advanced statistical analysis will ensure methodological rigor in establishing baseline metrics while maintaining contextual relevance. As advisor, Dr. Bhargava will provide overall leadership to the evaluation, ensuring alignment with the Theory of Change while maintaining the highest standards of research design and implementation.
